Our beloved Franschhoek also known as the French Corner of the Western Cape is often bustling with tourists. There is no shortage of things to do or leisure places to stay. Centuries-old vineyards adorn the valley and Cape Dutch architecture stands strong. For the nature lovers there is Mont Rochelle Nature Reserve, with views overlooking the valley. But I was more interested in hanging out at Old Road Co. Old Road is a funky new spot, walking distance from the heart of town. A comfortable setting and friendly staff makes for a comfortable wine experience. Lovely looking labels tell a story unique to Franschhoek and its people from old, the ones that shaped the community. There are various venues to choose from, to have a bite to eat and to work through their extensive wine range. First prize, there is no shortage of views without having to climb a mountain!
