Durbanville celebrates its 200th anniversary next year. In the lead up to this significant milestone, the region’s wine producers have curated a series of exclusive, small-panel tastings. The Durbanville Hills team invited me to join their tasting on Tuesday, 15 October. Over the course of a cellar tour and a formal wine tasting, MD Albert Gerber and cellarmaster Pieter-Niel Rossouw shared the remarkable history of the winery. They also showcased several wines from the winery’s premium portfolio. The tasting included a selection from Durbanville Hills' most outstanding vintages, styles and varieties as well as its apex wines, Tangram White and Red. Afterwards, we sat down for lunch at The Tangram Restaurant. Here, we feasted on a four-course lunch curated by Chef Tamzyn Ehlers, featuring a variety of favourite dishes.
