I am not usually a Chardonnay fan but of course I forgot that Cap Classique is largely produced from Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir is so much more attuned to my palate these days - what a joy! We are spoilt for choice in South Africa and even more so in the bubbly, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir categories. We tasted through small batch producers like Burton Francis, and also larger wineries like La Motte and Leopard's Leap to David Finlayson and Mont Rochelle. Well done to dear Michael Bampfield-Duggan for putting together a delicious set of wines and canapes at Moyo, Kirstenbosch, Cape Town.
